Jesus: Our Better Witness (Hebrews 12:2)

Mike Yates, April 5, 2026
Part of the Hebrews: Jesus Is Better series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Jesus, the faithful witness, Jesus, the beginning and end of faith, Jesus, the one who has endured, has reached the finish line and received all of the glory and the joy that he was promised.

That’s what gives us confidence to run with endurance: Not because we’re made of sterner stuff than most, because pain doesn’t bother us, but because we follow in the wake of our joyful, enduring, approved, and seated Champion, Jesus, the crucified, risen, reigning Lord, and he will not leave our salvation unfinished.

I. Fix your eyes on Jesus, faith’s origin, example, and finisher.
II. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the one who endured the cross.
III. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the one who has received the promised prize.
