Liberty Through Love (Romans 14:13-23)
Michael Argabrite, October 13, 2024Part of the Therefore: The Gospel-Produced Life (Romans 12-15) series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
As Paul turns to the "stronger brother," he affirms Christian liberty (Rom. 14:14), but reminds us that Christian liberty is practiced in light of something even more important: love (v. 15).
Paul's instructions to the strong:
I. Do not put obstacles in a brother's way.
II. Don't worry about practices (eating, days, etc.), but motivation.
III. Do keep pointing to Christ's sovereign, free grace.
IV. Protect that "good thing" (v. 16): the gospel that frees us.
