Righteousness: By Faith, Not By Law (Romans 9:30-10:4)

Michael Argabrite, February 4, 2024
Part of the Great Is Thy Faithfulness: Romans 9-11 series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

In Rom. 9:30 Paul turns from emphasizing God's utter sovereignty in salvation to emphasize human responsibility. Both are true, but God's sovereignty answers why it is that any person ultimately believes. In explaining why most of ethnic Israel has refused to believe on Jesus as the Christ, Paul says they have been chasing the wrong righteousness.

I. What is righteousness?
II. Righteousness can't be reached by works.
III. We are born without righteousness--like an empty cup. We need someone else's righteousness.
