The Multitude (Revelation 7:9-17)

Michael Argabrite, December 23, 2018
Part of the Revelation series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Chapter 7's interlude before the seventh seal reassures us that, as God's judgment falls on unbelieving Israel, Rome, and the world, the church is going to be all right.

I. The Multitude (Rev. 7:9)

II. The Multitude's Victory (v. 9)

III. The Multitude's Song (v. 10-12)

IV. The Multitude's Identity (v. 13-17): What does it mean to be sealed?
--The seal is a sign of authority: we are marked as bearing Christ's authority to say no to sin and fight this war of holiness.
--The seal is a mark of ownership (2 Tim. 2:19).
--The seal is a mark of authenticity (1 Cor. 9:2).
--The seal is a mark of security (1 Pet. 1:5).
--The seal is a mark of the believer's preciousness to God (Mal. 3:16-17).
