The Ministry of the Church (Revelation 11:3-14)

Michael Argabrite, March 17, 2019
Part of the Revelation series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Why should we understand these two witnesses to be the Church?

I. Who receives authority (power); who is enabled to do something by Christ? (Rev. 11:3; cf. Acts 1:8)

II. "They will prophesy"--can't NOT speak of Christ (v. 3).

III. "These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands" (v. 4). Those who by the power of the Spirit dispel darkness by showing Christ (cf. Zech. 4, Matt. 5:13-16, John 8:12).

IV. "These are [those] that stand before the Lord of the earth" (v. 4).
