Comfort and Strength (2 Thessalonians 2:13-17)
Michael Argabrite, December 29, 2024Part of the Individual sermons series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
As the church in Thessalonica faced threats of persecution, false teaching, and the everyday temptations of life, Paul points from the instability of life to the settled, stable certainty of Christ's sovereign reign.
I. Praise of thanksgiving for the stability of God's perfect, sovereign purpose (2 Thess. 2:13-14)
II. A loving exhortation: Stand firm and hold on (v. 15)!
III. A prayer (v. 16-17)
This is where we find hope in the face of loss, of change, and of fear.
