Eternal Life (John 17:3)

Knowledge of the true God is salvation.
I. Four kinds of knowledge that are not saving knowledge:
--Awareness of God (Rom. 1:18ff)
--Information about God
--Spiritual experiences
--Supposed knowledge of God apart from Christ (John 17:3)
II. Saving knowledge is a personal encounter with Jesus Christ in which we see his holiness, and therefore our sin and our need.
III. Eternal life happens when the Holy Spirit comes and changes our hearts and minds so that now we see and respond to the Father and the Son.
