The Christ of Peace (John 17:1-5)
Michael Argabrite, April 10, 2022Part of the John 17 series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Our hope and peace comes from the fact that Jesus prays for his people. The first few verses of John 17 show us three biblical truths, three gifts, that are the only real foundation for hope, assurance, peace, joy, and knowing Christ's love.
1. The Father gives the Son authority--power--over all flesh (v. 2).
2. The Father gives the Son a people (v. 2; cf. Eph. 1:3-6).
3. The Son gives life to all that the Father gives him (v. 2; cf. John 10:24-30).
