Commanded to Love, Part 2 (1 John 4:7-12)
Michael Argabrite, September 21, 2014Part of the 1 John series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
What motivates self-centered, self-loving, self-serving, self-satisfied sinners to LOVE one another?
I. Love because of the nature of God that now dwells in every believer (1 John 4:7-8)--see last week's message.
II. Love because of the love of Christ (v. 9-11): Five truths that motivate love in every believer:
--"God has sent" (v. 9).
--Who was sent? "His only begotten Son" (v. 9).
--The purpose for sending His Son (v. 9).
--God's love originates with God (v. 10).
--The purpose and cost of God's love (v. 10).
