The Vindicated Son: High Priest Forever (Psalm 110:4, Hebrews 5:1-10, Hebrews 6:9-8:6)

I. Jesus: Made priest forever for our eternal salvation (5:1-10)
II. Jesus: The assurance of God’s lasting promises (6:9-20)
III. Jesus: The better priest of a better hope and a better covenant (7:1-8:6):
1. Jesus is the king of righteousness (7:1-2).
2. Jesus is the king of peace (7:1-2).
3. Jesus is the unending priest (7:3).
4. Jesus is better than Abraham, and therefore better than the priests of Aaron's line (7:4-10).
5. Jesus brings a better law (7:11-14).
6. Jesus, as the undying Priest, brings a better hope (7:15-19).
7. Jesus brings a better covenant (7:20-22).
8. Jesus is the priest forever who saves forever (7:23-25).
9. Jesus is the sinless priest whose better sacrifice makes perfect forever (7:26-28).
10. Jesus is seated at the Father’s right hand, serving in the better tabernacle with a better offering, a better ministry, a better covenant, and better promises (8:1-6)!
