The Way (Romans 23:12-24:27)
Mike Yates, June 9, 2024Part of the Acts series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
As Paul stood before a Roman official, he described following Christ in terms many early Christians used: The Way. This Way sees Jesus as the sovereign King who rules in every place and situation, looks to Jesus's righteousness as the only means of gaining a clear conscience and freedom from our guilt and its penalty, and calls others to join us, knowing that every person will walk either in this Way that leads to life, or in some other way that leads to destruction.
I. Be confident: The Way is dangerous, but trust the sovereign Christ (23:12-35).
II. Be comforted: The Way gives us hope and a blameless conscience (24:1-23).
III. Be warned: The Way demands a response (24:24-27).
