Christ Prays for His Own (John 17:9-10)

Michael Argabrite, May 15, 2022
Part of the John 17 series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

The priestly ministry in Israel required two essential tasks: making a blood sacrifice to satisfy God's justice for sin, and making intercession, on the basis of that sacrifice, to God on behalf of his people. What Jesus procured for us at the cross, he ensures will be actually bestowed on us by his intercession.

I. Who is Jesus praying for (John 17:9)?
II. Why does he pray for them (v. 9-10)?
